Beer Miles FAQs
In October 2019, we brought our online loyalty programme together with our in-store Beer Miles programme. This means you can now use your loyalty points (Beer Miles) at our Peckham and Deptford shops as well as online, with an exciting new range of rewards and introducing new VIP tiers. How do I get involved?
Joining is easy. You can sign up in store or online, just click the Create An Account button to get started. Once you're registered, you'll be able to start earning Beer Miles.
How can I earn Beer Miles?
You’ll earn points on everything you purchase (1 point for every pound spent, excluding VAT and shipping) and can also earn more for referring a friend, following us on social media, we’ll even give you points on your birthday! Click here to learn more.
What can I spend my Beer Miles on?
Click here, then click Rewards to view all of the reward options. If you’re logged in, you’ll be able to see what you’ve unlocked, and how close you are to the next reward.
How do I redeem my rewards?
Click here, then click Rewards to view all of your reward options and select what you’d like to redeem. You'll then get sent a discount code to use at purchase. In-store, you can redeem your rewards at the till.
How do I check my Beer Miles points balance?
Ensure you’re logged into your account at shop.hopburnsblack.co.uk, then click here – your current Beer Miles balance is shown here. Points expire after 12 months, so please make sure you use them in time (we’ll remind you when you’re getting close).
How do I create an online account if I signed up in-store?
You'll need to sign up using the Create Account link at the top right of the webshop (or in the menu) and ensure you use the same email as you use in-store so that your online orders automatically link to your Beer Miles account (otherwise you'll create a new account). If you're having issues, please drop us a line and we can send you a link.
Does it cost anything to start earning Beer Miles?
Sign up is 100% free and you'll get 20 points to start you off when you create an account.
How long does it take for my Beer Miles to show up in my account?
Points are added when your order is fulfilled - i.e. shipped or picked up in store. This is to avoid any complications in case of refunds or changes to orders etc.
Can I use multiple discount codes at once?
Unfortunately our software only permits one code at a time.
What happens to my Beer Miles points if I return a purchase?
When you return an item or purchase, you also return the points you'd earned when you bought the item.
I entered my birthday, but I haven't received my birthday discount code?
Our Beer Miles software operates on US time so birthday discount codes may be sent in the afternoon UK time. The software also has a built-in anti-fraud measure which means birthday rewards aren’t granted if the birthday falls within 30 days of signing up. (The software designers found that a lot of customers entered fake birthdays in order to receive a reward faster.) If you think you've been affected by this and feel hard done by, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with proof of your birthday date.
How long are my Beer Miles points valid for?
Points are valid for 12 months - after that time, if they have not been used, they will expire. So use 'em or lose 'em!
Are my old Beer Miles and/or online reward points still valid under the new combined programme?
Yes. All points balances have been transferred to the new programme at the equivalent rate.
I have an Online Rewards code that I haven’t spent yet – is it still valid?
If you redeemed a reward under the old system and received a code, this will be valid to use online for 12 months from the date it was redeemed.

HB&B reserves the right to vary the level of rewards available and the rate at which points are accrued, as well as the method of earning and redeeming rewards if necessary. Affected customers will be emailed if changes are made.
