Love beer but can't enjoy it due to the gluten? Beer is officially back on the menu.
Hop Burns & Black has got together with expert gluten-free chef Kate Waters to create an evening that celebrates the very best of gluten-free beers and food.
An acclaimed bespoke fine dining chef, Kate is also a registered nutritional therapist and, as a coeliac herself, practises what she preaches. She's put together an exquisite menu to accompany some of the best gluten free beers in the world.
Some of the glorious gluten-free creations Kate will serve on the night include black bean chilli and guacamole; chicken satay with a creamy nut sauce; sashimi with wasabi and sesame; pulled pork with sauerkraut and mustard, and not forgetting something sweet for afters...
These dishes will be accompanied by beers from the likes of Mikkeller, To Ol and Brewdog, with Alex Carnwath from Brewdog sharing more about just why the new breed of GF beers are so darned good.
NB: While all of the beers that will be served on the night are declared gluten-free and fall well under the Codex level of less than 20ppm, they are made with barley. If you are able to tolerate trace amounts of barley (such as that found in gluten-free cereals), this is definitely the event for you and we look forward to seeing you soon. However, if you are hyper-sensitive to gluten, these beers may not be suitable.
